FRANSWA SHARL - HANNAH HILLIARD (2014)

Based on a true story from the life of its co-writer, Greg Logan, Franswa Sharl (an English corruption of Francois Charles) was directed by filmmaker Hannah Hilliard. In this gay short film, Greg is a teenage boy with a lively flamboyancy who is on holiday in Fiji with his and another family. Despite his father wanting Greg to be a macho son, Greg is not really interested in girls and while making a prank phone call, he comes up with a plan to show who he really is. Thus he invents a French girl, Franswa Sharl. I guess he does not know that Francois is actually male name. It won a Crystal Bear at the 2010 Berlin International Film Festival.
