ABOUT A GIRL - BRIAN PERCIVAL (2001) 15 Certificate

About A Girl won the BAFTA for Best Short in 2001. Another departure from the normal drama, About A Girl, written by Julie Rutterford, won at Edinburgh and Raindance too. In About A Girl we watch and listen to a fast-talking girl as she delivers an apparently disjointed narration. We also see snippets of her disfunctional life, before finally seeing her reason for being beside the canal. Rutterford now writes for high-end drama on British television and Percival has made several feature films (The Book Thief) alongside his TV work (Downtown Abbey).
